Redpath Australia are currently looking to employ a Senior Estimator with Underground Mining/Construction experience to join the Commercial and Tendering team in their Eagle Farm office.

About the role

Working as part of the Commercial and Tendering team you will be responsible for preparing and supporting the timely submission of tender documents including developing project estimates, execution methodologies and schedules and drafting proposal documents based with an in-depth understanding of tender specifications and requirements.

Duties

• Review and assess tenders ensuring all tender documents are received and correct;
• ensure timely and accurate submission of tender documents;
• ensure that key cost drivers are updated as required;
• liaise with clients on an ongoing basis to determine progress of the tender;
• conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions, assessment of risk and identification of activity that may or may not be shown in the tender documents;
• maintain sound and cooperative working relationship with existing clients;
• continually seek and identify new or alternative initiatives which may impact on the overall competitiveness, profitability and growth of Redpath;
• participate in business development strategy initiatives;
• coordinate and conduct “handover” meeting with the project teams, providing detailed briefing of the tender requirements.

Skills & Experience

• relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining or Civil);
• demonstrated experience in the co-ordination, planning, administration and management of the estimating and tender submission process to successful outcomes;
• 5+ years  experience in the mining or civil industry in an engineering or site-based role desired;
• demonstrated experience with Expert Estimation required;
• hard dollar estimating software will be advantageous;
• good leadership skills;
• possess an advanced understanding of the development of estimation methodologies, identification of major cost components, performing bid evaluations and risk analysis;
• demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills;
• exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numbers;
• strong verbal and written communication skills;
• proven ability to work under pressure;
