LHD OPERATOR

Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for One (1) LHD Operator for the new Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

Open to citizens of Botswana only.

Basic function of the position:

The role of LHD (Load – Haul Dump) Operator is responsible for operating underground mining equipment to transport and move materials such as ore and waste rock.

Key responsibilities:

• Knowledge of the functions of the LHD.
• Ensure all inspections are done.
• Achieve production targets through safe and effective operation of the LHD.
• Ensure that safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment is conducted.
• Conduct basic maintenance activities on equipment
• Transports these materials within the mine.
• Dumps the materials at designated locations.
• Ensures efficient and safe material handling.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:

• Junior Certificate.
• 3 years Underground Mining experience as an LHD Operator.
• Valid LHD Operator’s training certificate/license/ticket.
• Certificate to operate Sandvik LH621i is an added advantage.
• Ability to operate machines safely and comptently
• Good communication skills
• Driver’s Licence.
• First Aid & CPR certificate
