About the Project
The Project involves the transition from an open pit mine to an underground mine, whereby ore will be mined from underground ore bodies using sub level cave mining techniques.
The Jwaneng diamond mine is currently an open pit mine located in south-central Botswana about 120 kilometers (75mi) west of Gaborone, in the Naledi river valley of the Kalahari. Jwaneng Mine is owned by Debswana, a partnership between the De Beers company and the government of Botswana.
We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor for our Underground Project in Botswana. We are seeking people that are passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge of Australian Mining methods and processes to transfer to the Batswana workforce as part of an Integrated Operating Team with the Mine Owner.
Key Requirements
- Underground development experience in a leadership role
- Shift Supervisor's Ticket of Competency
- Experience working as an expatriate will be highly regarded
- In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity;
- Ability and willingness to transfer/mentor their skills & knowledge to African personnel.
- All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences
- Adherence to all company safety standards, policies and procedures
- A valid National and Federal Police Clearance (within 3 months)
- A work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto Consider it done — safely.
