MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Valid blasting certificate

Onsetter certificate

Competency in working at heights

Valid First Aid and Medically fit

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Shaft Sinking and Equipping

At least 2 years’ experience as a Sinker

Management and Coordination of daily sinking operations

Daily, weekly, and monthly progress reporting

Knowledge and previous experience in concrete lining, cover drilling, cementation, pipe installation and Shaft equipping.

Knowledge of Shaft Sinking, Health and Safety standards are essential

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervise the production staff

Monitoring and controlling the production process by allocating and managing resources to attain the production targets

Risk assessments must be conducted for each task

Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use

Good communication and Co-ordination with Banksman, Stagehand, technical and SHEQ services

Be responsible for sub-ordinates, maintenance schedule, Health & Safety in an area of responsibility

Ensure availability of spares and materials

Enforce good housekeeping
