About the role and Project

 

This is your opportunity to join our dedicated Redpath team at one of the largest underground mines in Australia. Olympic Dam Mine, operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide mining copper, gold and uranium. As part of the Redpath team you will be involved in the mining operation providing the safe delivery of development, ground support, services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As the largest contractor on site you will gain valuable experience to help grow your career. The position will 2 weeks on, 1 week off rotating roster working 12hr shifts. Locals from Roxby Downs and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply or FIFO available from Adelaide.

 

Duties

 

• Apply shotcrete at specified thickness, quantity, and application according to procedures and design;
• Ensure adequate ventilation and supply of mine-air prior to spraying;
• Fuel up concrete truck and fill chemical tanks as required;
• Previous experience as a Shotcrete Operator;
• Knowledge of concrete additives and aggregates;
• Knowledge of shotcrete rig's performance capabilities.

 

Skills & Experience

 

• Previous experience with the operation of Jacon Maxijet shotcreting machinery in an underground environment;
• Previous experience with the operation of Agitator trucks, batch plants and associated machinery;
• Current First Aid & CPR qualifications;
• Valid manual car drivers licence;
• The ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised;
• A safety approach in keeping with Redpath's motto Safety - First, Last and Always.
