About the role

Redpath Australia are currently seeking applications from experienced Fitters for work in Mount Isa.

The position will work a 2 weeks on 1 week off rotating roster with FIFO available from Brisbane or Townsville. Local residents of Mt Isa are also encouraged to apply.

In this role you will carry out general mechanical work including repairs, attending breakdowns and service work in a workshop and underground environment to heavy mobile equipment.

Duties

• maintain heavy mobile equipment, including Jacon Shotcrete, Light Vehicle’s and IT’s;
• ensure workshop is maintained;
• conduct breakdown maintenance as required;
• ensure machinery is maintained to meet site requirements; and
• Conduct fault finding and repairs as required.

Skills & Experience

• Heavy duty diesel fitter/mechanic trade qualifications;
• experience working with underground/heavy duty equipment;
• strong fault finding and diagnostic skills;
• basic Auto electronic knowledge;
• ability to pass a police clearance and pre-employment medical;
• demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision; and
• A work ethic in keeping with Redpath's motto Consider it Done.
