About the Project

This is your opportunity to join our dedicated Redpath team at one of the largest underground mines in Australia. Olympic Dam Mine is operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP and is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide extracting copper, gold and uranium. As part of the Redpath team you will be involved in the mining operation providing the safe delivery of development, ground support, mine services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As part of a major contractor on site you will gain valuable experience toward growing your career.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for the safe and efficient auto electrical maintenance to ensure the plant and equipment are able to operate at maximum availability and efficiency. The role is based on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotating roster. Residents from Roxby Downs are encouraged to apply of FIFO is available from your Capital City.

Duties

• installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring and electronic components on underground mining equipment, mobile plant and light vehicles;

• fault finding, repairing or replacing electrical components/wiring as required;

• maintaining plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations;

• identifying and managing potential risks.

Skills & Experience

• Auto Electrical Trade Qualification;

• experience in auto electrical maintenance on heavy mobile equipment in an underground hardrock mining environment;

• a valid air conditioning ticket;

• a valid manual car drivers licence;

• a current First Aid & CPR Certificate

• strong fault finding skills;

• a work ethic in keeping with Redpath's motto Consider it done.
