About Rothsay

This is your opportunity to join the Redpath team in creating a brand new underground mine at the historic Rothsay Gold Mine. The Rothsay Gold Mine is located approximately 80km east of Perenjori WA and approximately 400kms from Perth Airport or 1 hr flight from Perth. The scope of this project includes portal development from a new boxcut, development into the orebody and mine production. Redpath will have a fleet of brand new underground equipment making it an exciting opportunity for operators and tradespeople alike.

 

About the role

Redpath are Seeking highly motivated and experienced Jumbo Operator's based at the Rothsay Gold Mine project in Western Australia.

 

The role involves working a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotating roster working 12hr shifts, this role is available for a mid-2020 start. FIFO is available from Perth or DIDO available from Geraldton.

 

The Jumbo Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the Jumbo, monitoring to ensure the safety of the workers in the face area ensuring that the face remains on design path and report all issues requiring attention or rectification as soon as possible.

 

Duties

• Bolt and bore excavation pattern;
• Identify and remedy misfires;
• Read and follow plans and instructions;
• Interpret ground conditions and install additional support as required;
• Assist and providing instruction to other crew members – particularly the offsiders on carrying out the drill and blast operation.

 

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated extensive experience with operating Jumbo and associated underground equipment (Sandvik);
• Current working at heights ticket;
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical;
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Current manual drivers licence;
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate;
• A safety approach supporting the client’s motto ‘Consider it done - Safely’.

The accommodation facility at Rothsay is currently being constructed and will consist of 98 self-contained rooms, recreational/gym facilities, and Telstra Connectivity (including WIFI) will be available in the camp.
