About Rothsay

This is your opportunity to join the Redpath team in creating a brand new underground mine at the historic Rothsay Gold Mine. The Rothsay Gold Mine is located approximately 80km east of Perenjori WA and approximately 400kms from Perth Airport or 1 hr flight from Perth. The scope of this project includes portal development from a new boxcut, development into the orebody and mine production. Redpath will have a fleet of brand new underground equipment making it an exciting opportunity for operators and tradespeople alike.

About the Role

Redpath are seeking a suitably qualified Safety & Training Coordinator to join the team on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster with DIDO available from Geraldton or FIFO available from Perth. The Safety & Training coordinator role plays an important part to our project and is responsible for the coordination, monitoring and implementation of all Health, Safety & Training requirements for the project, ensuring they meet Redpath's, Client's and all relevant legislative requirements.

These duties include but not limited;

• Coordinate and participate in Redpath’s workplace inspection schedule on site including tracking personnel participation levels;
• conduct risk assessment and JSA training;
• prepare and conduct toolbox and safety meetings;
• assist the operations with the risk management processes on site such as JSA’s and risk assessments;
• develop and implement training modules for the workforce.

Skills & Experience

• A safety and leadership approach in keeping with Redpath's motto ‘Consider it done – Safely’.
• experience in a Safety Professional role within the mining, construction or heavy industry;
• certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent;
• certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
• current senior First Aid certificate;
• current Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) qualifications;
• knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation legislation in Western Australia;
• valid manual drivers licence;
• sound interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
• proven leadership skills and the ability to lead by example; 
• solid planning and organisational skills to schedule and allocate works;
• ability to problem solve and be adaptable;
• high attention to detail; 
• outstanding integrity;
• strive for continuous improvement and innovation;
• ability to work well with others in a team environment and unsupervised;
• excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The accommodation facility at Rothsay is currently being constructed and will consist of 98 self-contained rooms, recreational/gym facilities, and Telstra Connectivity (including WIFI) will be available in the camp. The surface workshop facility will be first class ensuring all tradespeople can work efficiently in a well maintained environment.
