About the role and Project

This is your opportunity to join our dedicated Redpath team at one of the largest underground mines in Australia. Olympic Dam Mine, operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide mining copper, gold and uranium. As part of the Redpath team you will be involved in the mining operation providing the safe delivery of development, ground support, services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As the largest contractor on site you will gain valuable experience to help grow your career. The position will work a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotating roster working 12hr shifts. Locals from Roxby Downs and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply or FIFO available from Capital Cities.

 

Duties

  • Clearly interpret production targets and schedules and work pro-actively to achieve the targets, with Redpath supervisors, within the allotted timeframe;
  • Be responsible for the whole cable bolting process and ensure that enough raw materials and drill consumables are available on the job site at the start of shift;

 

Skills & Experience

  • Cablebolt drill experience with Sandvik experience highly regarded;
  • Ability to read and understand cable bolt layouts;
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of ground support standards;
  • Current manual Drivers Licence;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates would be highly regarded;
  • Current working at heights ticket highly regarded;
  • Current  High Risk Dogging (DG) or Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) Licence would be highly regarded
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written;
  • A safety approach in keeping with Redpath's motto Safety - First, Last and Always.
