Job Summary:

 

Under the supervision of the Project Controller, the Document Controller will support document control functions for project and site drawings as well as engineering documents. Responsibilities will include proofreading, formatting and assembling documents for client issues. Assign appropriate document numbers as per Redpath’s internal system. The candidate shall possess a solid understanding of engineering, procurement and construction activities concerning document management, and demonstrate advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel, Aconex and Hard Dollar.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Gather and assemble documents and ensure accuracy
  • Input timesheet data and enter into the system with correct coding
  • Reconcile month-end reporting quantities and issues
  • Develop and maintain document registers to track issued documents and reports
  • Follow up with various parties on documents requiring reviews or updates
  • Provide support to various project roles including the Project Manager, Project Controller and Site Engineer
  • Proofread, format and assemble documents for client issues
  • Systems knowledge of Aconex, Hard Dollar, excel and good organizational skills an asset
  • Assign appropriate document numbers as per Redpath’s internal system and the client’s numbering system

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • College Diploma in Office Administration or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Minimum 3 years relevant document control experience in an engineering office environment recommended
  • Excellent computer software skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Aconex and Hard Dollar)
  • Experience working with SharePoint and database systems an asset
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Above-average organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Solid teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
