About the project

This is your opportunity to join our dedicated Redpath team at one of the largest underground mines in Australia. Olympic Dam Mine is operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP and is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide extracting copper, gold and uranium. As part of the Redpath team you will be involved in the mining operation providing the safe delivery of development, ground support, mine services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As part of a major contractor on site you will gain valuable experience toward growing your career.

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the electrical team working on general surface and underground electrical work for the project. This work includes, the installation and maintenance on fixed and mobile equipment, high voltage electrical work and the operation of associated mobile equipment.

The position will operate a 9 days on, 5 days off roster working 12hr shifts. Residents from Roxby Downs and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply or FIFO is available from Adelaide and other state Capital Cities.

Duties

• Oversee a team of qualified Electricians;
• Be the electrical nominee for the project;
• achieves safe, timely and cost effective electrical installation and maintenance for the project;
• conduct regular workplace inspection, fault testing and observations to maintain compliance with safety, efficiency and statutory standards;
• ensure electrical works are performed to good practice standards and in accordance with all statutory rules;

Skills & Experience

• extensive experience in electrical installation and maintenance in an underground environment;
• South Australian electrical licence;
• current manual drivers licence
• current First Aid and CPR certificate
• must be a registered Electrician to work in SA
• a work ethic in keeping with Redpath's motto Consider it done - Safely.
