About the Project

This is your opportunity to join our dedicated Redpath team at one of the largest underground mines in Australia. Olympic Dam Mine is operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHP and is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide extracting copper, gold and uranium. As part of the Redpath team you will be involved in the mining operation providing the safe delivery of development, ground support, mine services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As part of a major contractor on site you will gain valuable experience toward growing your career.

About the role

As a Leading Hand Diesel Fitter you will be responsible for supervising and leading a maintenance team, as well as conducting general mechanical work on heavy mobile and fixed plant and equipment to achieve maximum availability and efficiency.

Duties (not limited to)

• Manage and allocate duties for repairs, servicing and scheduled maintenance for fitters;
• Ensure all repairs are completed in a timely manner and to a high safety and quality standard;
• Provide supervision and guidance for trades;
• Assist with the mechanical work, hydraulic diagnosis and repair of faults when required
• Complete and file administration documents daily;
• Complete accurate daily shift reports detailing work performed.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience working on underground hard rock mobile plant mandatory;
• Diesel Fitter/Diesel Mechanic trade qualification;
• Mechanical and auto electrical knowledge;
• Demonstrated leadership ability;
• A valid manual car drivers licence;
• Strong fault finding skills;
• A work ethic in keeping with Redpath's motto ’Consider it done’.
