Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Liaise between the Company’s engineering team and the Contractor’s development/construction team

  • Ensure IFC prints are approved and issued in a timely manner.

  • Manages RFI‘s and field engineering decisions

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and schedules

  • Work closely with the client in identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement opportunities.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Current MSHA 40 hour

  • Bachelor degree in Mining, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license (preferred)

  • 5 years’ experience working in an underground hard rock mine

  • Advanced understanding of mine regulations

  • Understanding of work related procedures and standards

  • Ability to lead risk assessments

  • Ability to conduct risk assessment of specific task

  • Ability to multi task and work safely and effectively

  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently

  • Ability to recognize and resolve problems as required

  • Ability to adapt to a varying work environment often requiring the employee to develop new and innovative work methods

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Have the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

  • Follow Company and Client health and safety standards and report all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor

  • Responsible for the use and maintenance of all safety equipment, i.e. PPE, lanyards, warning signs and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation.

  • Ensure work standards are in place.

  • Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.

  • Ensure that workers are qualified and capable to safely performing the assigned work

  • Work in accordance with local legislation

Education

  • • Bachelor degree in Mining, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license (preferred) is required
