About the Project

This is your chance to join the versatile Redpath Cannington underground team in an exciting Development or Ground Support role. The South32 Cannington operation is 200km from Cloncurry in North-West Queensland. The Cannington Redpath team is over 120 personnel strong and benefits from the job security that comes from a long standing contractual relationship spanning more than 30 years! Redpath are industry leaders in underground ground support, with Cannington contributing to the 15,000m3 of shotcrete applied and the 35,000m of cablebolts installed by Repath around Australia each month.

 

The role involves

  • Working a 7 & 7 roster, 12hr shifts
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs to fleet of underground mobile plant including Jumbo’s and Cableboltors
  • Fault finding repairing and/or replacing components as required
  • Maintaining plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations and site requirements
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workshop

We are looking for

  • A heavy duty diesel fitter/mechanic trade qualification
  • Experience working with underground mining equipment, specifically Sandvik range
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Current First Aid certificate or ability to get prior to commencement
  • Valid manual drivers licence
  • A positive work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto, Consider it done — safely.
