This is your opportunity to join the Redpath Australia team at the world class Lady Loretta Underground Mine, approximately 140km North-West of Mt Isa.  Redpath Mining are responsible for all facets of the Lady Loretta mining operation, utilising industry leading technology and equipment to deliver safe and efficient production.

This role involves

• Working a 9 days on, 5 days off FIFO roster (12hr shifts);
• Developing short to medium term mine plans for the underground operation, ensuring all key mining physicals are achieved in line with the client’s quarterly mine plan;
• Coordinating all aspects of drill and blast design, review and execution;
• Providing technical and QA/QC support in accordance with the Contract Specification and relevant Statutory Regulations;
• Frequently inspecting work to ensure quality and environmental controls are in place;
• Promptly addressing any non-conformance and implementing corrective actions.
• Providing engineering, temporary works design, organising subcontract proposals, awarding and supervising improvement projects and specific subcontracts as required by the project;
• Preparing routine progress reports detailing labour, equipment, and materials usage;
• Providing progress reports on cost/production KPI’s and prepare forecasts; and
• Supervising, coaching and mentoring graduate Engineers at Lady Loretta.

Our ideal candidate will possess

• A degree in Engineering (Mining) or recognised tertiary equivalent;
• In-depth experience in Underground mining including development and production;
• Previous experience working in contract mining would be highly regarded;
• Prior experience leading a team of mining professionals;
• Proficiency in Deswik CAD and Scheduler;
• Proven experience managing cost/schedule/performance metrics; and
• Current manual driver’s licence.
