Redpath USA Corporation a premier full-service underground mining contractor is in search of a Underground Mining Equipment Maintenance Planner to join our project at the Kennecott Copper Project near Salt Lake City, Utah.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Planner will provide planning and scheduling services to assigned maintenance areas. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, scheduling and execution of maintenance requirements to ensure equipment availability to meet site goals. The incumbent will be responsible for performing complex planning, analysis, record keeping and other management reporting as it relates to the preventive and scheduled corrective maintenance, overhaul, and modifications of equipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, train and implementation of equipment maintenance plans for project sites including but not limited to:
  • Maintenance processes.
  • Data collection requirements.
  • Work order templates.
  • Reporting.
  • Maintenance tooling.
  • Spare parts lists.
  • Upkeep of equipment processes, templates, data in the ERP and CAM systems.
  • Track daily efforts on work orders to ensure timeline, budget and labor are in line with estimates.

2. Develop and maintain an overall maintenance program for the assigned area that will ensure production goals and availabilities are maintained.

3. Ensure that all parts and materials are ordered in a timely manner.

4. Monitor year to date cost performance/analyze forecasted budget against actual.

Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level

6. Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and or ERP.

7. Prepare forecast of all maintenance jobs to be executed , gaining alignment with Operations and Supply Chain partners.

8. Maintain equipment information and repair files.

9. Perform work order opening and closing for maintenance, repairs, inspections, and adjustments.

10. Verify all material, information, tools, and labor are available prior to scheduling.

11. Utilize priorities from Maintenance and Production Superintendents.

12. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.

13. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.

14. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.

15. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.

16. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.

17. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

18. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.

19. Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.

Education:

  1. High School or equivalent.
  2. Preferred: Trade school in mechanical and/or electrical professions.

Work Experience:

  1. Five years previous experience with mining or similar large industry experience in planning and scheduling.

 

Knowledge Required:

  1. Must be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.1.
  2. Knowledge of the mining industry underground environment.
  3. Mechanical understanding of mining equipment to support effective planning.
  4.  Able to demonstrate strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
  5.  Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

  1. Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
  2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  3. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
  4.  Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  5. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  6. High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy.
  7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
