Redpath USA Corporation a premier full-service underground mining contractor is in search of a Track Administrator (Mining Administration) to join our project at the Kennecott Copper Project near Salt Lake City, Utah.

Project:  Kennecott Utah Copper Project

Location: Bingham/Salt Lake City Area

Job Summary:

The Track Administrator’s primary function is administrative in nature. The Track Administrator supports the Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent as well as being a liaison between the project and the various administrative departments at Head Office.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. TRACKS Data Entry
    1. Enter project data into the MCi TRACKS system
    2. Compile required daily, weekly, monthly, TRACKS reports
  2. Avetta System Administration
    1. Enter Avetta system information
    2. Submit new hire information and order Avetta system badges
  3. Procurement/Receiving
    1. Compile procurement requisitions
    2. Receiving of materials at site
  4. Health, Safety & Environment (in Avetta)
    1. Check training documentation for completeness, signatures
    2. Maintain training modules files
    3. Record and check safety compliances, file compliance data
  5. Employee Liaison (in Avetta)
    1. Schedule indoctrination and/or training
    2. Communicate with Project Controller as required on delays, issues, labour, changes, etc. when not at site
  6. Liaison with Project Manager/Superintendent and Project Controls group
  7. General clerical – mail, filing, answer phone, maintaining bulletin/notice boards, meeting minutes, assist with client inquiries
  8. Local supply and personnel pick-ups and deliveries, where applicable
  9. Maintain confidentiality with respect to employee and candidate information

  11. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current Utah Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  12. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
  13. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner
  14. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures
  15. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information
  16. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  17. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day shift, weekends, holidays and shift rotations
  18. Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility

Education:

  1. High School or equivalent.
  2. Preferred: Trade school in mechanical and/or electrical professions.

Work Experience:

  1. Five years previous experience with mining or similar large industry experience in planning and scheduling.

 

Knowledge Required:

  1. Must be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.1.
  2. Knowledge of the mining industry underground environment.
  3. Mechanical understanding of mining equipment to support effective planning.
  4.  Able to demonstrate strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
  5.  Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

Other Requirements:

  1. Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
  2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  3. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
  4.  Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  5. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  6. High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy.
  7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  1. Office setting, may be on a mine site or satellite office, may include underground visits
  2. Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands, distractions/interruptions
  3. While at site, dealing with surface and underground environment such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise and fumes
  4. Physical Demands
    1. Sitting for long periods of time
    2. Site visits may require physical activity such as walking on uneven ground, climbing and the wearing of additional personal protective equipment
    3. Working on a computer for long periods of time

Mental Demands

  1. Mental effort to deal with multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  2. Effort to ensure accuracy and completeness with all documentation
  3. Interaction with different people with varying personalities

Effort

  1. Operate computer, telephone, mobile phone, fax, scanner and photocopier
  2. Respond to inquiries, requests and sudden changes
  3. Exposure to most underground mining mobile equipment types and manufacturers
  4. Exposure to vibrations, dirt, dust, high and/or low temperatures, loud noise and hazardous substances such as explosives
  5. Includes working in different and changing environments and conditions in both surface and underground mining operations.
  6. Work is done in isolation and in the vicinity of working and moving equipment in both surface and underground mining environments
  7. Requires a high level of alertness to detect and report various hazards
  8. Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands, distractions and interruptions
  9. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. in weight
