Job Summary:

The Senior Project Scheduler is accountable to the Project Controls Manager and/or Project Manager to prepare and maintain baseline/execution schedules, track performance, incorporate quantitative and qualitative analysis, and to define both the physical performance, resourcing of the projects and highlight to proper stakeholder should deviations from the optimal performance be highlighted. Performing root cause analysis on any schedule variances and working with other departments to develop mitigating actions. Support the detailed project planning efforts guided by the schedule as well as tracking, monitoring and reporting on project productivities on various works from for items such as lateral development or shaft sinking.

The incumbent will support business objectives of the Company to ensure they are consistently achieved. The Sr. Project Scheduler must be knowledgeable in the discipline of project management, provide input and support the development, implementation and maintenance of project baselines, project execution plans, administration of contracts, inclusive of supporting the setup of project administrative aspects.

 

Primary Purpose of This Position:

  1. This role will be primarily focus on all cost aspects of the project, including but not limited to:
    1. Assigning cost codes for PO's
    2. Detailed cost reporting at WBS activity level all the way up to Executive summary level
    3. Change Management
    4. Monthly forecasting and trending based on project EV and performances
    5. Data analysis on cost performance to explain variances
    6. Monthly invoicing
    7. In dept understanding of the contract for commercial aspects of how costs translate into pay item and revenue
  2. In addition to this the candidate will need to have strong experience in the use of InEight Controls.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that all functions are carried out in compliance with company and national health, safety and environmental guidelines, policies, procedures and legislations.
  2. Prepare, define and compile the controls baselines including the development of project schedules, budgets and track progress against these baselines.
  3. Ensure accuracy of project schedules and performed version control.
  4. Co-ordinate project schedules, tasks, meeting updates, and efficient distribution of reports.
  5. Assists project managers with schedule planning, coordination, and monitoring.
  6. Tracks, analyzes, and reports on project progress, performance, and milestones.
  7. Analyze performance data, identify trends, works with technical and operations teams to prepare mitigation plans.
  8. Responsible for identifying potential progress claims and contract change orders.
  9. Ensure that the Redpath Management of Change process is being followed against the schedule.
  10. Monitor projects’ progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date.
  11. Maintain project risk register to ensure that risks are effectively managed to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget of projects.
  12. Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans.
  13. Ensures strict adherence to the Redpath’s Philosophy, Guidelines for Success, Code of Conduct and Cardinal Rules.
  14. Establishes full compliance with the Redpath 17 element safety program and monthly SAP (Safety Accountability Program).
  15. Responsible for ensuring and keeping work areas safe and free of hazards.
  16. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in an efficient manner.
  17. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
  18. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
  19. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  20. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  21. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  22. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
  23. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  24. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
  25. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
  26. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  27. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
  28. Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration
  2. 5-10 Years of post-graduate field and/or office based project accounting, estimating or controls experience related to underground construction projects or operational mining environment, with knowledge of project management, construction contracts, reporting and data manipulation
