Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the site activity compliance and implementation schedule requirements.
  • Create and chair weekly safety and crew commute meetings.
  • Manage the Critical Risk Assessment (CRM) program and ensure that monthly targets and objectives are achieved.
  • Manage, review, and update the site risk register.
  • Where required coordinate the development of site or area specific health and safety management system documentation and monitor the performance of the client safety procedures.
  • Oversee and conduct investigations, ensuring they are conducted to the highest standards, review reports and ensure timely closure of findings, driving accountability and continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to promote a safety-conscious culture onsite.
  • Ensure that all new and existing employees to site are appropriately trained and inducted to enable them to perform their job specific requirements in a safe and efficient manner.

About You:

  • Diploma in OH&S or equivalent.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Good Understanding of High-Risk licence – Crane, Rigging, Telehandler, Working at heights
  • Manual C Class Drivers’ Licence.
  • Good understanding of current Mining Legislation and Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Experience in investigation process and analysis.
  • +3years in Construction Health and Safety essential - Mining and Shafts desirable
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn concepts and systems quickly.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team with a demonstrated ability to manage one’s own time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exercise tact, discretion and maintain confidentiality.
