About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our Procurement team at Redpath Mining in Brisbane. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the seamless procurement of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials, equipment, and services required in mining operations.
• Source competitive bids, negotiate RFQ’s and favorable terms, in alignment with the company’s requirements and budgets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms to benefit the company
• Maintain accurate records of inventory levels for all required mining materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to track delivery schedules and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
• Assist in resolving disputes between suppliers and requisition originators and buyers;
• End to end sourcing. These activities include assisting in tender and evaluation preparation.

Skills & Experience

• Purchasing and procurement experience, ideally in mining and/or manufacturing environment.
• 2-5 years of related experience in an inventory management/logistics role.
• Knowledge of procurement systems and procedures, Oracle / JDE
• Strong computer literacy skills, Microsoft work, Excel intermediate
• Experience in procurement and supply chain management
• High attention to detail, particularly with order processing and inventory management.
