About the Role:
Redpath Mining is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ventilation Technician to join our team in Jwaneng. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing underground and surface ventilation systems to ensure a safe and compliant working environment in line with Redpath’s operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct regular inspections and measurements of airflow, gas concentrations, temperature, and humidity in underground workings.

2. Install, commission, and maintain ventilation infrastructure such as fans, ducts, regulators, stoppings, and doors.

3. Perform ventilation surveys and prepare detailed reports and sketches of ventilation networks.

4. Assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of ventilation systems to improve air quality and efficiency.

5. Monitor and record environmental conditions to ensure compliance with statutory mine health and safety requirements.

6. Identify and report ventilation-related hazards and recommend corrective actions.

7. Support the preparation of monthly ventilation and occupational hygiene reports.

8. Collaborate with engineering, safety, and production teams to plan and implement effective ventilation controls.

9. Participate in emergency response planning and exercises related to ventilation and fire control.

10. Ensure compliance with Redpath Mining’s safety, health, environmental, and quality management systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

• National Certificate or Diploma in Mine Ventilation, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an underground mining environment.

• Good understanding of mine ventilation principles, occupational hygiene standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Computer literacy in MS Office and experience with ventilation modelling software will be an added advantage.
