In-depth understanding of Long Hole Open Stoping production systems, including slot development, drilling accuracy, charge-up, blasting sequences, mucking strategies, and backfill integration.
Practical knowledge of underground LHOS mining cycles, including interaction between development, stoping, support installation, and re-entry requirements to maintain production continuity.
Strong understanding of contractual obligations and performance management within a mechanised LHOS environment, including measurement of drilled metres, blasted volumes, tonnes trammed, and reconciliation against production plans.
Proven knowledge of safety and risk management specific to LHOS, including fall-of-ground risks, brow integrity, stope stability, blast clearance protocols, and control of misfires and hang-ups.
Working knowledge of mine legislation and statutory compliance applicable to LHOS operations, including workplace examinations, support standards, explosives management, and legal appointments.
Ability to identify production and safety deviations, conduct structured root cause analyses related to drilling accuracy, blast performance, dilution, equipment availability, and re-entry delays, and implement corrective actions.
Effective English mine language literacy, with the ability to issue clear underground instructions, compile accurate production and incident reports, and communicate operational risks across shifts.

Responsible for overseeing and controlling the underground production section to ensure that all mining activities are executed safely, legally, and efficiently in accordance with contractual requirements, mine standards, and operational plans.
