Matric certificate/ equivalent

Certified Tele Remote competency certificate – mandatory

Working at heights certificate

A valid driver’s license

Medically fit to work underground

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

3 years’ extensive experience in a longhole stoping mass caving as a Tele Remote operator.

Knowledge of various remote-control systems and remote monitoring systems.

Strong safety focus.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Strong attention to details and communication skills.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Controlling heavy machinery in underground stopes from a safe, distant location.

Remote operators from areas with risks like falling rock, poor ground conditions, dust, vibrations or hazardous materials.

Operating loaders using remote controls system to muck ore and load trucks from production stopes and stockpiles.

Conduct pre-shift workplace and equipment inspections.

Identify deficiency and delays, monitor cycle times and discuss improved operating methods with the supervisor to maximize productivity.

Complete shift report and perform cross shift handover.
