MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Competent B Certificate

Loco Operator competency certificate

Dover Test Certificate

Medically fit

Valid First Aid Certificate

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

At least 3 years’ experience in underground construction work

Knowledge of how to operate and inspect Loco Machine

Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act

Good knowledge and Experience of Shafts and Development operations

Excellent communication skills

Good housekeeping

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to work independently, collaborator and critical thinking skills

SHE Compliance and participating in the early entry examination

Ensure the safe and effective handling of all tools and equipment

Responsible for good housekeeping in area of responsibility

De-sludge/ Clean out holes on completion of drilling

Pre-check list adherence and mid-shift risk assessment

Reporting of breakdowns to the supervisor and engineering team

Barring of hanging wall, sidewall, and face

Application of section 22 and 23 of MHSA
