MULTI SKILLED OPERATOR

Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for One (1) Multi Skilled Operator for the new Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

Open to citizens of Botswana only.

Basic function of the position:

The role Operator is a highly versatile and valuable team member capable of operating a diverse fleet of underground heavy mobile machinery to eliminate production bottlenecks.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure all operation is carried out in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure machinery is operated to optimum performance and in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Actively promote safe work practices.
• Follow instructions by Supervisor for work location to be carried out in and around the mine.
• Keep underground roads maintained to correct standard.
• Follow correct site procedures during blasting and prescribed emergencies.
• Report accidents and unsafe situations or hazards.
• Cleaning the machine’s cab area for the safety and comfort for all operators and keeping work areas free of material that could cause damage to other machines.
• Attend all pre-work meeting.
• The operator should be able to operate the following machines: Truck, Loader, Grader, Light vehicle, roller and water cart.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:

• Junior Certificate.
• 3 years Underground Mining experience as an Multi–Skilled Operator.
• Certificate for Grader, Roller and water cart
• Valid Operator’s training certificate/license/ticket.
• Ability to operate machines safely and competently
• Good communication skills
• Driver’s Licence.
• First Aid & CPR certificate
