Underground Electrician - Olympic Dam

About the Project

Olympic Dam Mine, operated by the largest mining company in the world, BHPB is approximately 550km North-West of Adelaide mining copper, gold and uranium. Redpath provide the safe delivery of development, ground support, services and equipment maintenance through the utilisation of 40 major items of plant, 3 maintenance workshops and specialist modern tooling. As the largest contractor on site you will gain valuable experience to help grow your career.


The role involves

  • conduct regular workplace inspection, fault testing and observations to maintain compliance with safety, efficiency and statutory standards;
  • provide electrical trades labour and supervision and guidance for trades assistants and apprentices; 
  • prepare shift reports detailing work performed;
  • ensure electrical works are performed to good practice standards and in accordance with all statutory rules;
  • ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant Technical/Standard Work Procedures;
  • strong planning and organising skills to schedule and complete tasks; 
  • strict adherence and compliance with all relevant site based procedures and advice, required by both the Client and Redpath;
  • Working a 9/5 roster, 12hr shifts


We are looking for

  • extensive experience in electrical installation and maintenance in an underground environment;
  • current Electrical Licence;
  • current Switchboard Rescue Qualification Certificate;
  • current CPR & EAR Qualification Certificates;
  • current working at heights quaifications;
  • experience with trouble shooting and mine electrical equipment;
  • experience in high voltage work;
  • strong fault finding & diagnostic skills;
  • the ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as work unsupervised;
  • Valid manual drivers licence 
  • National Police clearance within last 6 months advantageous 
  • Current First Aid certificate or ability to get prior to commencement
  • A work ethic and attitude in keeping with Redpath's motto Consider in done — safely.
