MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Section 13 Trade Test or section 26D as a qualified fitter.

Supervisory qualification would be advantageous

Competent B Certificate is advantageous

Computer literate

Valid Driver’s license – Code 8

Must pass Dover Test

Must pass Underground Medical

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

5 years’ traceable experience as a qualified mechanical related artisan on Earthmoving or TMM equipment

5 years’ traceable supervisor experience as appointed Foreman in Mining underground

Heavy Earthmoving and general maintenance management experience withing underground TMM

Asset management and planned maintenance experience

Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act

Be able to implement set Engineering related systems and procedures without any compromises.

Excellent in fault finding skills.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing and coordinating mechanical activities.

Supervising mechanical team.

Ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Managing the maintenance and repair of mechanical in infrastructure and equipment.

Assigning tasks and training of employees.

Inspecting work and performance equipment installation and maintenance.

Collaborating with engineers in planning and commissioning projects.

Ensure that the asset management system is complied with

Assist in conducting failure analysis studies and recommend alternative strategies for maintenance.
