Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for three (3) Nipper for the new Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

Open to citizens of Botswana only.

Basic function of the position:

The role of Nipper is to assist the Jumbo Operator with his day to day work underground ie installation of bolts and mesh for ground support .

Key responsibilities:

• Ability to cope working in a fast paced, physically challenging environment.
• Set up headings for the jumbo operator.
• Minimisation of jumbo down time by assisting with any repairs.
• Assist jumbo operator with installation of bolts and mesh for ground support.
• Collect, deliver and assist instillation and ground support consumables.
• Detailed knowledge of underground mining and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage fatigue and hydration throughout shift.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:

• Junior Certificate.
• Underground Mining experience is an added advantage,
• Good communication skill
• Driver’s Licence.
• First Aid & CPR certificate
