About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Project Controls Manager to support multiple projects as a shared resource, based in our Perth office. Working across two or more concurrent projects, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, progress claims, and project performance insights.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong working knowledge of project control principles, exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project, and a keen eye for detail. You’ll be responsible for maintaining project cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting commercial decisions through data-driven reporting. Key responsibilities                                                                                                                                  

  • analyse various operations, cost performance and business processes and documents and provide advice on solutions, opportunities and tactics

  • build and enhance forecasting modelling tools and undertaking financial modelling of business options

  • collaborate with key stakeholders to highlight trends and strategise ways to minimise costs and improve project profitability

  • prepare monthly equipment cost/efficiency reporting, site reports and progress claims, ensuring compliance to the contract

  • identify and analyse variances and trends, reporting to management on findings

  • develop plans for implementing and monitoring the success of projects and cost control

  • support project cost control activities such as budget, cash flow and invoicing

  • assist with general commercial contract administration (minute taking at meetings, preparing client reports, identifying and proposing variations etc)

  • assist where required in the preparation and issue of commercial letters including, and variations claims.

 About You

  • 10+ years’ experience in project controls, cost engineering, or commercial project support, ideally within mining, construction or resources sector

  • Strong understanding of project control principles including budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project (preferred)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across different projects

  • High attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
