Artisan Rigger

Mechanical Foreman

 NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT:

Fixed Term Contract

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as qualified Rigger

Competent B Certificate

Valid driver’s license

Medically fit to work underground

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

At least 3 years’ underground and heavy lifting experience as qualified Artisan

Working knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act and Regulations

Inspection & repairs of lifting equipment

Workshop procedures, installation, and maintenance

Maintenance of quality engineering standard

Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards and regulations

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Report on all incidents and accidents

Risk assessments must be carried out for each task

Conduct daily inspections to ensure the safe and effective operation of machinery and lifting equipment

Ensure the safe and effective handling of all Engineering machinery and equipment

Responsible for all lifting equipment

Assist with all rigging duties

Performing Planned Maintenance duties

Sign off all daily check performed by self and subordinates

Submit reports as required

Ensure housekeeping is adequate for maintenance work

Ensure all safety regulations are followed and that all staff are equipped with the necessary safety gear and knowledge
